eBuilding, Redtone, and further frustrations

Ebuilding and REDTone have merged or work closely together, apparently a while ago. Now, there service hasn't got better, as I mentioned it earlier in a different entry.

Over the past couple of days, their service is extremely erratic. Either the connection is very slow - and I mean, really slow -, is constantly disconnecting, or, surprise, surprise, extremely fast. It doesn't help because, it is just annoying. I mean, I need the Internet for work, to connect to my customers, send out training- and coaching proposals and all.

When I try to call their customer service, hardly ever is someone answering. Lucky me, I have found a way into their system, and have to "bug" a very friendly assistant called Nurul. Sorry Nurul!!

I learned last week, that my name has been highlighted in red!! How did I find out? Well, I called to complain, once again, and one of the customer service assistants told me that my name is marked in red, and i probably haven't paid. Hey - my fees are deducted automatically!!! So she connected me to the financial person Khairul.

He wanted to have the customer service assistance check my connection and call me back in 5 minutes. I am also weary of eB's or Redtones timeline, since most of the time, it is either me who has to call back or they call back way beyond their stated call-back time. He said he would call back in 5 minutes, and again, of course, it took them more than 30 minutes or so to call back. Which, for eB or Redtones is a very fast turnaround, serious!

This Khairul didn't tell me that I am blacklisted, but I believe that they would be happy if I get out of their system.

Now, I would love to have alternatives, but the challenge with these providers is that they don't have competition. A friend of mine living in the same block has a telephone connection with Times. She cannot change to any other company and has to subscribe to the Internet via Times as well. She would love to go for Streamyx, but cannot.

Same with me. I cannot move anywhere else. A friend told me that Maxis has some good offers, but how can I subscribe if I am stuck with eBuilding?

These are the perils of the last mile. A company is stuck with a customer who is extremely dissatisfied with their service, and I am stuck with some company that I don't like.

Give me alternatives, please!!!
