Lunarpages.com - a sneaker in my computer

Now, who is or was Lunarpages and why am I upset wit them? Well, Lunarpages is a webhosting company just as so many around - but they are, at least in my eyes, not the sort of company that I would recommend.

What they did and actually still do, to my dismay, is that the redirected my homepage to their webpage. So everytime, I am locking in to my computer, and open the Internet, I am ending up on their side. Even so I cleant my system it still happens.

It is caused me to lose a couple of very valuable time yesterday, when I first discovered that they had done this to my computer. My next discovery was even worse. Somewhere settled "nicely" in my computer was a virus, a Trojan Horse. Argh!! Really bad and the moment I discovered it, my computer basically shut down. Every time I switched it on, it shut down, straight away and re-run the startup procedures.

Luckily, I have a great friend called Danny who is working as the Chief Fella in the Computer Fellas - yeah, the name is like that! He was so extremely helpful, guiding me through the whole mess-up, giving me tips via te handphone, to finally get rid of the virus, and been able to reset my computer.

So, what do I do with the Lunarpages? I link to them, will send them a mailer and see, what the result is (PS: couldn't send a mail to them but left a comment in their blog).

We learn in neuro linguistic programming (NLP) that there is a positive intention behind every behaviour, and that I have to calibrate on behaviour and not on the person. I understand that their positive intention is advertising their services - I own a couple of domain names, and thus, may be I a a potential client for them. I don't simply know, if they planted the Trojan Horse, but I know that my homepage is redirected to theirs. So I understand their positive intention, but this does not mean that I have to accept their behaviour. And that is why I want to initiate the conversation with them and see, if they have an explanation.

May be there is another explanation, and may be my readers can enlighten me as to what has happened?

PS - UPDATE:

Ah - I am not the only person that is unhappy with them. There are others who complain about Lunarpages' service. Read a detailed account here.
