A smokers paradise

A long time back, I wrote about Hardie's Superburger, which was oozing with fat and calories. Of course, it was nothing for those on diet or on a health campaign.

Now someone in Germany (of all places) launches an airline just for smokers. Again, it goes against the holy grail of health and increasing non-smoking trends. But, it goes against the trend. Smoking is a declining market in many countries in the world, but there is business that can be made.

Alexander Schoppmann, the 55-year-old founder of Smoker's International Airways -- Smintair -- said he got the idea for a smokers' haven in the heavens after he'd had enough of expensive non-smoking long-haul flights with poor service.

So yeah - going against the grain instead of following and copying trends is a worthwhile idea to have. I just don't hope they open the window to let the smoke out during the flight, haha.

This was a great marketing opportunity waiting to be exploited. What will they think of next. Smoking buses? ;-)
