Haunting punishments
This is so incredibly cruel. How can any parent do this to their children? I am assuming the best of their intention but what is happening in their mind that punishment is seen as an addition, or extension of love?
This is the news that is always haunting me, because I can feel with children that are punished. How often is it the case that they just don't know what they are doing, searching for answer and get this?
How often do they scream for attention, and all they get is ignorance?
Don't you know that no child is born bad? That the outcome of education is the result you get and that there is no child that is incapable of learning, but only parents that are incapable of educating?
There is a clear difference between guidance and punishment. Guidance is more flexible, and you as a parent can be strict, if needed. Punishment means more violence, and then parents read the news and wonder why the world became so violent.
The boy in the story suffered in a way, no child of 10 years (or any other child!) should ever have to suffer. He will never have the pleasure of growing old and exploring new pathways. What happened was that dreams have been destroyed easily, for the sake of parents who were not capable of facing their own inabilities.
This one ended in the death of a small kid. But ask yourself - when was the last time you showered your children with unconditional love.
With a hug and a kiss.
I tell my boy often that I believe in him, in him as a person, in what he does. He might not fully understand what it means but I can see and sense that it means something to him, in the way he processes the information.
When was the last time you said this to your loved one? Because ultimately, you have created child and it is your responsibility to create someone who is able to find his or her own identity and pathway.
Think about it!

I agree with you on the whole!!! Nothing can be better and more precious than children - our future!!! And parents themselves shape children, being examples in everything!!! That's why it's so impotant to be good exampls and to inculcate in little creature (in the meantime their souls are clean sheets!) love for beauty and goodness!!! I'll do it for sure, when have my own children!!! :)
