The Low Cost Carrier Terminal, Air Asia and my trip to Sarawak

I flew off to Sarawak last Sunday, with butterflies in my stomach. Flew with Air Asia. And yes - I was worried when I knew that I have to take Air Asia to fly to Sarawak. Worried that I would waste valuable time at the airport due to many delays in the way Air Asia worked my patience before, even was worried about the Low Cost Carrier Terminal.

Let's take it step by step.

First, there was the new Low Cost Carrier Terminal - I was worried that there would be chaos, dirt, nothing working and all.

I love this water dispenser inside the terminal - one for the big guys and one for the small guys :)

Pity only that the urinals inside the toilets didn't have this special distinguishing characteristics, requiring smaller kids to stretch themselves to pee correctly!

Air Asia also managed the passengers much more professional than they did earlier. And they got the basics right - leaving on time. And, what I very much appreciated, they let parents with children and elderly enter the plane first. Amazingly, they actually checked that only elderly and parents with children went first - something, that is sorely missing at other airliners, where this request is frequently ignored and not enforced.

I haven't taken a picture inside the plane on the way to Sarawak, but only one on the flight back. The flight attendants, so still with a lot of make-up (at least the female ones :) ) were much more professional than those in earlier flights that I took with Air Asia - so this is another plus point. The plane's interior was also great. Looks as if Tony Fernandes and his team gets it right now.

What I loved on my way back was looking at the clouds. Tropical clouds are just great - deep and massive in their structure - simply impressive.

There was only one thing that I thought is a bit strange in the Low Cost Carrier Terminal's arrival hall, namely the conveyor belt. Way too small for the number of arriving passengers.

Now, all in all, I am happy that we flew with Air Asia, and that the Low Cost Carrier Terminal looks like a well done piece of work!
