A queue at the LRT

Since a while now, I am taking the LRT from KLCC to Bangsar in the evening time, during rush hour. Initially, I was weary of doing this, having heard plenty of horror stories.

The trains are full, for sure, but what amazes me is the lines that form while people wait for the LRT to arrive. I mean, forming a queue? Malaysians? I mean, this is awesome. Okay, some few passengers rush forward the moment the LRT arrives, but only a few do so.

This is in total contrast to what I usually experience on highways or elsewhere.

What's happening? No rude Malaysian in the LRT? Or is it just that around KLCC, "people behave civilised?"

Well, I enjoy it, for sure. It is a 25 minute ride, enough time to do things that you do in those 25 minutes. Expect more stories.

Well, based on my personal experience, the LRT passengers seem to be ranging from different level of civilization at different stations :-)

Kelana Jaya passengers behave extremely good in general. In the morning, well-arranged queues are formed without any explicit instruction. When train arrived, some of the passengers who wish to opt for the next train will automatically step backward and give way for others to enter.

KLCC passengers are quite good as well, but still a little bit poorer if comparing to Kelana Jaya.

But, passengers at some stations don't really behave well in queue. For example, Pasar Seni and KL Sentral. Yes, my personal observation tells me so.

I think this phenomenon is probably attributed to the fact that Kelana Jaya is the first station from another end. Plenty of seats and spaces are available to accomodate incoming passengers. But, once the morning trains reached KL Sentral, there's not much room left to accommodate incoming passengers, and thus people easily get more frustrated as the time is passing off minute by minute.
