The Hot Chocolat Cafe
The Cafe is located in a quiet place in Damansara Heights, to be exact, at Jalan Lorong Setia Bistart 2.
Its motto is great:
Chocolat is sweet Life is beautiful So are you ... Welcome to The Hot Chocolat Cafe
(as taken from their business card.
We had Western food, which was good - from Italian to "normal" Western food, such as Chicken Schnitzel (something I sometimes miss!)
And now it comes, the thing that put me off! Dramatically!!
We asked for Parmesan Cheese on our spagetti. We were told, that this is possible but would be charged.
What? Actually, this spoiled the fun - damaged the whole superior picture that we had earlier.
See - here is a lesson to be learnt. You provide something interesting, in a quiet place. All your visitors are wow-ed. Than, you charge for something that is free elsewhere, for the same type of food.
This is one rule in business - if you charge for something that is free elsewhere, all you do is upsetting your customers - who than share their experience with others.
So, once again: Never charge for something that can be get for free somewhere else!

After the reviews I heard about the Hot Chocolat Cafe (at Damansara Jaya) in the newpapers, I had a very high expectation on the food served. I made a mistake of recommending the place to my friends (before trying) and received disappointing feedback from all of them. I finally had a chance to try the food on 1 Jan 2007. To my utmost disappointment, the penne marinara consisted of 2 tiny prawns, 3 shellfish (minus the shell) and 2 small pieces of squid, and a whole lot of crabsticks and very light carbonara sauce. This cost me RM18.90. I expect this kind of serving from hawker stalls selling pasta (at a cheap price) but not for a well publicised cafe that charges so much for so little (pathetic, in fact) ingredients. Sad to say, the chocolate temptation was not tempting at all. This will be my first and last time eating at this cafe.
ANDREAS: And it clearly is good that you share your impression with others, like you do here at my blog. Thank you!

That's terrible. If my favourite Chicken Rice guy ever charged me for chilli, I'll burn down his shop. :)
