My addiction to books
It is still happening. I buy way too many books. Also, honestly, while I am a book collector, I am using them. Read my books over and over again. Flip through them. Get sucked in, walk with the book open to the sofa, sit down, and read. Sometimes a chapter, sometimes just a few paragraphs.
It is interesting to see, what I underlined earlier, when I read the books. I scribble at the side, underline in different colours, but hardly ever sit down and write down what I actually see or learn from a book. Something that I need to do next year, I guess.
I also discovered in the meantime, what drives me to buy books, what my buying strategy is. When I enter a bookshop, I get this elated feeling of happiness. I like the smell. It triggers something in me. I like to flip through books, and feel the newness of them.
I like to read something that is new to me, that sounds fantastic in a first read. Then I buy - 1, 2 or 3 books at once. Pity (or lucky?) they are expensive in Malaysia. If the government would want to instill a reading culture in Malaysia, they should reduce the taxes on educational material or books dramatically. But then, I would probably need more bookshelves.

I give away to my cousins mostly so I can always borrow back when I need them. LOL. I just need their space, that's all *grins*

not when you're suppose to be reading a ton of "other" books.... like history for example... or chemistry.... you know what i mean.... *groan* which reminds me to go read one now..... :(

Hi Cherry - I am working already, lol. But yeah, that is a good way of spending time. Welcome to my blog.
Emily - while I think it is an addiction, it is one of those that are more positive, I guess.
S-Kay - Good way to manage the amount of books. But then, I always go back to old ones away. They are full of notes and thoughts, and show a stage of my own development as well. It would break my heard to give them away.

hi ya~ i am a new comer to ur blog. you know what? the most efficient way for me to read a book, either novel or story book or others, is to take them with me to the Friday's lecture which is God Damn Boring!! hahaha~~ no kidding lah, i broght bridget jones diary with me last friday and i finished 72 pages during 2 hours lecture. lollz~ super efficient!

I've given away so many books because I have no more space for it. Will prolly need to get more books soon. The holiday is coming. Yay!
