Religion at the airport
This is the sign at Frankfurt - Airport, just in front of the prayer's room (pity it is not that clear, it was taken with my mobile phone).
It invites all the major religions for prayers - Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Jews and so on. I don't know if there is a split into different prayer rooms inside the room. Such as one room for Muslims, one room for Christians, one room for Hindus and one for Jews.

Nevertheless, I like the concept. Now, imagine, if different religion would actually pray together. See, how others are doing it. Get a feeling of understanding, learn from each other, develop tolerance and, imagine the unbelievable, get to talk with each other after the prayers, become friends.
Is this provocative to some, enlightening to others?

That would be a wonderful thing to have people come together (although could be in different rooms) in submission through prayer to a Higher Authority. Surely there is nothing wrong about praying together. It's a matter of one's heart reaching out to God, so one can be standing in the midst of atheists and can still pray to touch the heart of God, right? Who knows, those watching may be touched too. Hmmm.. do I make sense??

Andreas: first of all, my initials are MENJ (caps), not "Menjy" or "Menji". MENJ is not a noun.
Secondly, I implore you to remember the Qur'anic verse: "Lakum deenukum waliya deen" which I have quoted above. That does not mean that I reject tolerance and understanding of religions. But this is a matter of `ibaadah, and it cannot be simply compromised due to your liberalist understanding a la Amina Wadud.
Wassalam.

Menj: I always wonder why you are so scared, what is it in you that frightens you? You don't look like someone who needs to so uncertain of yourself?
Jon Choo: Its a great dream and dreams are made to become real. May be in 1,000 years or even 100 years, humans are more matured to live with one another.
But whatever it is - it shows that in parts of the world, its done already. So tolerance is there and a dream is fulfilled :)

Promotion of equality and tolerance is fine, but not to such extremes. "La kum deenukum waliya deen".

It is great isn't it? I am not religious (at all) but this would promote equality and tolerance. Shame such a thing would never happen in Malaysia.
